Monday, April 4th
Math 9
Today in class we discussed adding polynomials.
For example, these are the steps to follow:
1. Combine like terms in the brackets.
2. Drop the brackets.
3. Re-write the equation by placing all terms in order of degree.
4. Combine like terms with the whole equation by simplifying.
The notes we took today is a concrete example.
If you were not in class today, please get your notes.

Thursday students have a full day and parent/teacher interviews are taking place from 6 to 8pm.
Friday, there is no school for students as there are parent teacher interviews from 9 - 11am.

Midterm
On Thursday, March 17th, students were given a 20 question mid-term review. Students should complete the questions, as the exact same questions will be on the mid-term.
Students write their mid-term on Thursday, March 24th 4th and 5th blocks.
Review will be done as follows:
Monday March 21 - questions 12,13, 13.5, 14 15, and 16
These questions cover SIMILARITY AND PROPORTIONAL.
Students should be using their cue cards for SCALE FACTOR to help them. The cue cards will NOT be used on the mid-term.
Tuesday March 22 - questions 1 - 5
Practicing the scale factor formula.
Wednesday March 23 - questions remaining.
Don't forget to think about the ARTSmart reflection using the terminology in your vocabulary section of your notebook.
All answers are posted in my room AND there is extra help until Tuesday, March 22nd.

Homework - Assignments should be done!
Assignment 2: look through magazines and find one example of a scale diagram. Cut the item out and tape it to a piece of grid paper. Remember: you only need to worry about the outline of the item, not the detail in the picture.
a) Enlarge to scale of your choice (for example 2.3)
b) Reduce to scale of your choice (for example 0.67)
c) Draw your item to scale
